Champagne is wonderfully delicious, and the bubbles tickle my nose. Champagne is naturally romantic, and will almost always set the mood for an evening of passion.
I have been sampling a few champagnes lately, and would like to take a moment to share my experiences.
Andre Brut Champagne- This is usually the cheapest champagne that one will find at the liquor store (or at the Supermarket, if your state allows). Usually costing about $4 per bottle, this is one of my faves, and most common purchases. The flavor is good, fairly mellow, with little bitter aftertaste. The carbonation is also good - just bubbly enough. A good buy!
Montsarra Cava Brut - This Spanish champagne was the priciest of my recent expenditure, costing about $15 per bottle (still cheap champagne). The flavor is decent, rather fruity, but there is quite an aftertaste with this bottle. The carbonation is low, so it's more like wine than champagne. This was not one of my faves, and I probably won't buy this one again.
Barefoot Bubbly Brut Champagne - I was not a fan of this one. It tastes like very cheap White Zin, has a strong, lasting aftertaste and is rather low on carbonation. The cost is fair at around $7 per bottle, but I will not be purchasing this one again. I do love the bottle, however.I will be continuing my adventures in the world of Champagne. What is your favorite buy?
